Germany is the world's third largest economy, German is a key language in the European Union and the new economies of Central and Eastern Europe. Learning German improves your chances of success on the job market. Whilst German ranks 12th in the world in terms of the number of people who speak the language, it ranks third when measured in terms of GNP ($1,000 billion), behind only English and Japanese.
